re: W E A V E - Christopher Farr 20 years
2008 marks the 20th anniversary of Christopher Farr.
To celebrate the 20 year anniversary Christopher Farr is organising an exhibition entitled
re: W E A V E. The exhibition will be curated by Michael Boyd, a pioneering collector of 20th century modern design. The narrative includes a retrospective of important works (20 milestones) from the Christopher Farr archives and historical inspirations (20 touch stones) from modernists such as Kazimir Malevich and Piet Mondrian who represent the mechanic inclination in Christopher Farr's design and Jean Arp and Isamu Noguchi, who represent the organic impulse. Also considered are influential ethnographic and vernacular art and functional design. Influences and impressions come from a wide range of disciplines, including art, architecture, film, gardens, fashion, music, dance and furniture design.
The exhibition take place at the Christopher Farr, Los Angeles showroom on October 28th.
Studio Series
The second Studio Series collection was premiered at ICFF, New York in May. The Studio Series features 11 geometric and organic patterns designed by Christopher for the custom and hospitality markets.
